The Run+Weights Room

The Run + Weights Room is home to three class types - two using treadmills, one without - and is your go-to for increasing cardiovascular fitness and full body strength. Those who get the most out of their Run+Weights workouts know that attending a combination of these classes consistently every week is essential for success.

Along with our treadmills, The Run + Weights Room is also home to a variety of dumbbells and weights plates, slam balls, barbells and of course, benches and squat racks. 

Run+Weights classes are perfect for high performance, and recovery, and for those new to running or lifting weights.

The Run+Weights Room classes are called:
ENDURANCE, SPEED and STRENGTH.

Endurance

The first phase of training, and therefore our entry-level Run+Weights class, Endurance is designed to help you build your aerobic fitness and stamina.

Spending the majority of your time on the treadmill in the 60%-80% max heart rate zones without overreaching, the goal of Endurance is to build your cardiovascular conditioning for longer periods of repeated exercise.

In Endurance you will perform longer, less intense periods of running on the treadmill and light weight, higher rep ranges on the gym floor.

If you are new to running, you should aim to attend a handful of these classes intially before attending our Speed class.

Speed

Akin to high-intensity interval training and spending the majority of your time on the treadmill in the 80%-100% heart rate zone, Speed our Run+Weights class is designed to help you improve your anaerobic fitness and push your limits.

Building on the fitness you have gained in our Endurance class, the goal of Speed is to improve your overall athletic capability by improving your power and lactic threshold through performing short, but intense high-energy bursts of maximal effort on the treadmill and on the gym floor.

You should aim to attend these classes once or twice a week to increase your VO2Max which will allow you to perform at a higher level for a longer period of time; the best indicator of cardiovascular fitness.

Strength

Our weights-only class, Strength is designed to help you build an overall stronger body for everyday life whilst also allowing you to take a break from running.

We provide you with the exercises, the education, and the understanding of how to achieve your goals so that you’re able to choose the weights and the rep range depending on how you feel.

Our Strength classes are designed to give you a well-rounded Strength training experience. They are perfect for beginner and more experienced clients.

You should aim to mix a few Strength classes into your weekly schedule if you’re a Run and Reformer addict or, you can make it your go-to class if you prefer lifting weights more regularly.
